A delegation from the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology has visited Jalingo the Taraba State capital, to assess the level of damage on the National Biotechnology Development  Agency by hoodlums, in the wake of the EndSars protests.

The delegation was received by the Taraba State Deputy Governor Haruna Manu, at the Government House.

Over one month after the destruction and looting of production machines and office items of the National Biotechnology Development Agency in Jalingo by hoodlums, the centre is still grounded.

The incident which occurred during the wild hunt for Covid-19 palliatives, in the wake of the EndSars protests,  has brought down every item in the 10-year-old centre to rubble.

A delegation from Nigeria’s Minister Of Science and Technology, led by the Director-General of the National Biotechnology Development Agency, Professor Abdullahi Mustapha, was in Taraba State, to assess the level of damage, in order to have activities return at the agency.

The team also paid a courtesy visit to Taraba State Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu.

The National Biotechnology Development Agency Centre was one of the few mini industries that went into the production of food and non-food items from locally sourced raw materials, in Taraba State.
