The Federal Government is putting in place measures to sustain the peak generation ever achieved in the electricity industry for the socio-economic wellbeing of Nigerians.
Minister of Power, Sale Mamman stated this during a tour of the National Control Centre in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The National control Centre is the operational nucleus of the Nigerian Electric Power Grid. Located in Osogbo, it is responsible for all activities related to system operational planning, network data acquisition, real time grid and management.
The Minister of Power used the opportunity to announce the acheivement of the Ministry particularly in power generation.
The Minister said the grid generation installed capacity has increased to 13,014 megawatt due to synchronisation of Dadin-Kowa Hydro Power Plant.

The Acting General Manager of the National Control Centre identified aged equipment, poor maintenance culture, and vandalisation of power equipment as causes of erratic power supply.
The Minister earlier held a meeting with the management team of the National Control Centre in Osogbo to discuss some challenges being faced in their operations.
