The Federal Government says it is working with relevant agencies and stakeholders to expand access to technology, mentorship and entrepreneurship opportunities for young Nigerians and vulnerable groups.
The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, stated this in Akure, Ondo State, during the distribution of solar home systems, clean cooking stoves and household support packs to 330 residents under the Federal Government’s Sustainable Empowerment Programme.
The federal government intervention is aimed at improving household welfare, promoting clean energy and making locally developed technologies accessible to grassroots communities.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, said the Federal Government remains committed to ensuring that young people and vulnerable groups benefit from technology-driven empowerment initiatives.
He stressed that the programme was not politically motivated but designed to take practical solutions and economic opportunities to communities.
Other stakeholders including the vice chairman of NASENI, Khalil Halilu, said the intervention was designed to address household energy needs while promoting the adoption of locally developed products.
The Federal Government says the programme is part of its efforts to translate research and development into practical solutions, promote local production and create employment opportunities.
