The Federal Government has said it is collaborating with Google to curtail the use of YouTube channels to promote hate speeches and disinformation in the Country.
Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed who disclosed this at a meeting with a team from Google expressed worry that Google has become a choice platform for the proscribed terrorist Group, IPOB to promote acts of violence and destabilization in Nigeria.

He noted that Nigerians are one of the most vibrant users of various Social Media platforms which have enhanced businesses and creative interactions but warned that criminal elements must be fished out among them.
Google Government Affairs and Public Policy Manager Adewolu Adene pledged the readiness of the platform to work for the promotion of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.
