The Contractor, AG Vision handling the Yola-Mubi Road rehabilitation project in Adamawa State, North-East Nigeria has been given an ultimatum to return to site immediately and proceed with work or face the consequences.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha gave the warning while on an inspection tour of federal roads under rehabilitation and construction in Adamawa State.
Yola to Mubi is connected by a federal road which hitherto was smoothly usable until its dilapidation owing to long use by motorists.
This necessitated its award, to the said contractor by the Federal Government in 2017 with a two-year deadline but as it is, reverse is the case as five years later, not even 30% completion has been reached.
SGF Mustapha visibly expressed displeasure over the level of work so far done by the company despite the huge amount sunk into the project by the Federal Government.
Boss Mustapha added that the road contract was awarded to AG Vision in 2017 at the initial amount of N22 billion plus another additional N29 billion being an upward review caused by slow pace of work.
