Minister of Health and Coordinating Minister of Social Welfare, Dr. Muhammad Ali-Pate has urged owners of the 1,321 medicine stores sealed in Kano to relocate to the Coordinated Wholesale Centre at Dangwauro, to ensure proper monitoring, to safeguard the country.
The Minister gave the directive while briefing newsmen shortly after inspecting the Coordinated Wholesale Centre, CWC, Dangwauro, along Zaria Road in Kano.
Dr. Pate said the purpose of the visit is to assess the level of preparedness of the Coordinated Wholesale Centre, to ensure safety in the drug distribution system, aimed at improving the ethics system.

Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran, said the State Government would assist smaller drug dealers to acquire shops at the Coordinated Wholesale Centre.
It could be recalled that the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, PCN, in collaboration with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, sealed off the 1,321 medicine stores, for operating illegally in Kano, on February 18.
