Unemployed youths across the eight oil producing States of the Niger Delta are to benefit from the skills acquisition program put together by the Federal Government.
The entrepreneurial exercise which is been conducted at the skills acquisition department of the petroleum training institute, Effurun Delta state is aimed at alleviating poverty in the region.
Over two hundred participants from the Niger Delta region are to be engaged by the federal government on different skills acquisition training in soap making, paint manufacturing and other petroleum engineering technology programs.

A move by the Buhari led administration to curb the growing rate of unemployment in the region.
Some of the proposed beneficiaries believe that expanding the program would not only engage the unemployed youths, but also end all social vices prevalent in the Niger Delta.
According to National Bureau of Statistics, the youths are dominant in the progression of the unemployment rate in the country.
