The Federal Government, FG, says it is determined to drive national growth and development through the use of scientific innovations.
Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Adeleke Mamora, said this in Abuja at event organised by Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, in partnership with Alliance for Innovation Research (TETFAIR).
The minister who was represented by Monilola Udoh, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, says TETFAIR is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s executive order five aimed at entrenching science, technology and innovation in all sectors of the economy to drive speedy growth.
He added that the executive order 5 lays a solid foundation for economic diversification
Minister of State for Education, Goodluck Opiah, commended the TETFAIR initiative, saying it is capable of generating brilliant ideas that could drive national growth.

He is optimistic that this scientific platform will not only help in identifying challenges but go a step further in proffering solutions needed to scale up innovations that would unlock rapid and sustainable chains towards current global demands.
Communications Advisor of Innov8 Hub,Deji Ige disclosed that 72 prototypes have since been developed and ready for commercialisation since the inception in 2019.
According to him, 150 innovators, inventors and venture creators, including academics and researchers have benefited from the mentoring platform.
The event was attended by members of the diplomatic community and the Academia.
