Nigeria's Vice President, Kashim Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima, says there is need for Nigerians to come together and fight the common challenges of under development, poverty and destitution.

The Vice president said this during the graduation of 1,128 trainees of the Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute in Lafia, the state capital.

Speaking at the graduation of the technicians trained in different areas Shettima highlighted federal government’s plan to create more jobs to address unemployment and poverty in the country.

He commended the efforts of Nasarawa State Government to provide relevant skills for its people, in alignment with the direction of the world towards skills acquisition.

The Vice President challenged those graduating to channel their skills to supporting the value chain of production in the country.

Nasarawa state Governor , Abdullahi Sule expressed his happiness that the institution is achieving the purpose for its establishment and appreciated those who have continued to sponsor trainees to get relevant skills for the betterment of the State and country at large.

Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, most Reverend Matthew Kukah who sponsored 20 of the trainees from Sokoto to learn skills at the institute commended Governor Sule for the facility.

Highpoint of the event was the symbolic presentation of certificates and starter packs to selected trainees by the Vice President and Nasarawa State Governor.
