In an effort to expedite increased production in the Agriculture sector, achieve food security and sustainable economic development, the Federal Government is to use farmers cooperative groups in Nigeria with ongoing reform programme.
This follows the setting up of the National Steering Committee, NSC for Cooperative Reform and Revamp Programme (RH-CRRP), 2025–2030, for measurable improvement in food production across the federation.
Speaking during the Inauguration ceremony in Abuja, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security and Supervising Minister of Cooperative Affairs, Sabi Abdullahi said cooperatives serve as critical platforms for agricultural production, enterprise development, access to finance, value chain integration, and inclusive economic participation.
Abdullahi therefore charged members ‘’to approach the assignment with patriotism, professionalism, integrity, and deep commitment to national development by working collaboratively, ensuring stakeholders engagement, monitor implementation rigorously, and support the realisation of the objectives of the Programme.
