The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Youth Development, has created a platform for young Nigerians to express their aspirations and share ideas on shaping the country’s future.
The initiative comes at a time when young people are seeking better opportunities in employment, education and economic development.
The programme targets young Nigerians from across the country and the diaspora, including representatives from the 360 federal constituencies across the six geopolitical zones. It also promotes gender balance and ensures the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
Addressing delegates at the commencement of the physical phase in Abuja, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande said the virtual consultations had provided valuable contributions from young Nigerians across the country.
He explained that delegates were expected to examine the issues raised, review proposed solutions and develop practical recommendations capable of influencing government policies and improving young people’s lives.
Beyond expressing concerns and sharing ideas, the conference seeks to translate discussions into meaningful outcomes, particularly in addressing unemployment, limited economic opportunities and the need for inclusive development.
For many young Nigerians, the expectation is that the conference will produce clear recommendations that improve access to decent employment.
For participants, the conference represents an opportunity not just to discuss the future, but to take ownership of the process of building it.
As delegates examine issues affecting millions of young Nigerians, the challenge remains turning shared aspirations into practical solutions.
