The executive council of the federation has approved the procurement process for the operation of a toll plaza concessionaire that would build a governance structure to monitor activities of road users.
The Minister of works and housing Babatunde Fashola alongside other ministers briefed state house correspondents after the weekly meeting of the executive council of the federation.
The approval given by the executive council is for government to partner the private sector to build a central clearing house that will synchronize the different toll technology system to be used by concessionaires when they start their tolls. It would also provide a one stop accounting system.
The minister of works and housing Babatunde Fashola also said that the council has given approval for the refund to state governments of previous interventions on federal government roads.

The ministry of education received council’s approval for the takeover of David Umahi university of medical sciences in Ebony by the federal government.
The ministry of industry trade and investment says the memo to the ministry presented on behalf of the oil and gas free zones authority, for the award of contracts for construction of packing sewage system for the authority’s head office in Akwa Ibom state in the sum of 1.8 billion naira, received the council’s approval.
