A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with the torture and killing of Ibrahim “Ibee” Mbaya, who was tied up and repeatedly beaten after being accused of stealing an iPhone.
Plateau State Police Command spokesperson, SP Alfred Alabo, says the suspect, Yusuf Christopher Beskeni, a student of the Department of Theatre and Film Arts at the University of Jos, was among those declared wanted following the fatal mob attack.
During the briefing, Beskeni admitted narrated his participation in the mob attack on late and posting disparaging comments about the late Ibrahim Mbaya on his WhatsApp status same day
Alabo says efforts are continuing to arrest the other fleeing suspects and establish the role played by everyone linked to the torture and killing.
