Wife of Nigeria’s President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, says the Federal Government will continue to intensify efforts to tackle hunger and child malnutrition through the establishment of community food banks and the expansion of food outreach programmes under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Remi Tinubu stated this on Tuesday in Akure, the Ondo State capital during the distribution of food items to vulnerable groups in the state.
Represented by the Wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, the First Lady said the intervention underscores the Renewed Hope Initiative’s commitment to supporting vulnerable Nigerians and ensuring that children have the opportunity to grow, remain healthy and thrive.
She noted that the Renewed Hope Initiative complements the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu by empowering Nigerians to pursue their aspirations regardless of their circumstances, while also addressing food insecurity and malnutrition.
In his remarks, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, urged beneficiaries to see the intervention not as a one-off event, but as part of sustained efforts to build resilient communities through social investment programmes that promote human dignity.
The food outreach programme benefited widows, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups across Ondo State.
