Fight Against Illicit Drugs: Marwa lays foundation of area office to monitor local routes, supply chain

Over eight hundred hectares of farm lands with about six thousand metric tonnes of narcotic drugs have been destroyed in the last two years with about 5700 metric tonnes confiscated by the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

The Chairman and chief executive officer of NDLEA Buba Marwa made this known in Igumale, headquarters of Ado local government area of Benue state during the foundation laying ceremony for the area office to help the agency monitor local routes and the supply chain of narcotic drugs.

This has been welcomed by the chairman house committee on Narcotic drugs and the host community leaders.

The NDLEA Chairman used the opportunity to commission the 24-kilometer Igumale Ijigban road project initiated by the member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo federal constituency.

Earlier the NDLEA boss met with traditional rulers to begin sensitization on the war against illicit drugs.
