Goods worth millions of Naira were on Sunday morning gutted by fire at the furniture market in the Biogbolo area of Melford Okilo Expressway in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.
When AIT visited the scene of the inferno not much was left of the usually busy area except ashes of burnt furniture and owners who were lamenting their losses.
Traffic flow on the road was grounded with vehicles forced to use one side of the dual-carriage way as the other was loaded with furniture that had been salvaged from the inferno.
Though the cause of the fire incident is yet to be ascertained, some of the affected persons said there was more to the fire outbreak than meets the eyes.
