A section of the popular 14-storey Mandilas Building on Broad Street in Lagos Island was engulfed by fire on Sunday as emergency responders who rushed to the scene of the incident frantically struggled to prevent it from spreading any further.
The fire which originated on the first floor spread to the fourth floor destroying goods worth several millions of Naira.
According to the Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margret Adeseye, no life was lost during the inferno at a warehouse in Mandilas Building.

The cause of the fire as of the time of filing this report was yet to be known as emergency responders continued to work round the clock to put out the inferno completely.
