The Mobil filling station located opposite Alaka police which went into flames Wednesday has finally been put off after several hours following emergency response by fire service and other agencies responsible for safety in the state.
The fire according to some eye witnesses resulted from a spark as the petroleum tanker laden with 33, 000 litres of premium motor spirit was discharging its content into the underground tank.
According to the south west coordinator, national emergency management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, no live was lost during the inferno as emergency responders battled to contain the fire from spreading futher to adjoining buildings.
