Five minors have been apprehended by the Internal Security Unit of DAAR Communications PLC for allegedly attempting to burgle the company’s residential generator house.
The suspects, aged between ten and twelve years, were caught while allegedly attempting to cart away valuable items from the generator house.
The Chief Security Officer of DAAR Communications PLC said the children gained access to the company premises through a nearby bush before sneaking into the generator house.
He said two of the suspects had previously been arrested within the company premises and taken to the police before being charged to court for burglary.
The two suspects were tried as minors and sentenced to community service in consideration of their age.
The Chief Security Officer said the five suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
