The Federal Government has assured flood victims in Kogi State of Adequate support to cushion the effects of the disaster.
The Director General, National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA), Zubaida Umar, gave the assurance when she led a team on visit to the State for an on-the-spot assessment of the flood disaster in parts of Kogi State.
The Director General, National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) Zubaida Umar said in a message that the team was in Kogi State to ascertain what the Federal Government could do to ameliorate the sufferings of flood victims.
The NEMA director general assured the victims of urgent Federal Government intervention.
At the IDP camp in Adankolo where 546 household have been profiled, the people complained about the poor condition of the camp since they were sacked from their homes.
As the flood victims continue to count their losses and wait patiently for the water to recede to enable them return to their homes, they are very optimistic that the government will match their words with action to ameliorate their sufferings.
