The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Keffi, Nasarawa State, will in the next two weeks pursue the option of a mass burial for nine unclaimed corpses left lying in its mortuary if they are not claimed by their relatives
This information was conveyed in a statement by Esther Bature, the public relations officer of the medical centre.
The decision by the management of the medical centre to issue the deadline was due to the fact that some of the dead persons were brought in 2021 and others in 2022 which exceeds the time limit of 6 months as permitted by law.
She urged members of the public who lost their loved ones during the stated period indicated to visit the hospital’s mortuary for possible identification and a claim.
