The Chairman of the Abuja Football Association (FCT FA), Mohammed Moukhtar, has shared an optimistic and ambitious vision for the football community in 2025.
Reflecting on the achievements of 2024, Moukhtar expressed gratitude towards partners, board members, and stakeholders who contributed significantly to the growth of football in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Key highlights from the past year included advancements in grassroots football, the development of women’s football, youth programs, and improvements in governance.
Looking ahead, Moukhtar emphasized the need for continued progress, urging football enthusiasts to remain united in the pursuit of excellence, underpinned by the pillars of development, innovation, and inclusivity.
One of the major goals for 2025 is the establishment of a women’s football league, providing a dedicated platform for female talent to flourish.

Additionally, Moukhtar highlighted plans to enhance the technical capabilities of officials through international collaborations with FIFA and CAF to ensure FCT’s football governance meets global standards.
He also unveiled plans to embrace technology, including the launch of a digital platform aimed at streamlining football operations, such as players registration and league management, to promote efficiency and transparency.
With a forward-looking approach, Moukhtar’s vision for 2025 sets the stage for significant transformation, focusing on greater inclusivity and innovation to build on the successes of the past year.
