At least 17 young footballers from Bayelsa State have been selected by international scouts in the on-going Prosperity Cup in the State.
The Bayelsa State government said the tournament is aimed at projecting young talents in the state especially in football to an enviable heights and using sports as an instrument to develop the youths.
The State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo made this known when the organizing committee of the Prosperity Cup, FIFA Agent and European scouts from FDC/VISTA GELENDZHIK paid him a visit in government house, Yenagoa.
The visit was to intimate the State government about the ongoing scouting exercise where seventeen young football players under the age of 17 have been selected and are being screened to groom their talents in an international academy.
The deputy Governor noted that the government is prepared to partner with agencies that will help to showcase the State talents to the world
Five players have been successful screened at the time of this report as the trials are billed to end this Monday, July 4th.
