The former Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Ahmed Ubangari (rtd), has emerged as the new paramount ruler of the Eggon nation.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, in a meeting with the leadership and members of the state’s Traditional Council of Chiefs in Lafia, , announced the selection of the new Aren Eggon.

The former Chief Judge was selected by two out of the three surviving kingmakers and ratified by the Traditional Council of Chiefs and approved by the governor.
Justice Ubangari-Rtd succeeds late Dr. Bala Angbazo, who died in July 2022.
The retired Jurist, Justice Ahmed Ubangari, was born on December 30, 1945, in Nassarawa-Eggon town.
He had his Primary and secondary School education between 1955 to 1961 and proceeded to Teacher’s College and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria between 1962-73 and was at the Nigerian Law School in 1979.
He was made Registrar of Courts from 1973 and rose through the ranks to become the Chief Judge of Nassarawa State in 1999.
