Former Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has congratulated the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the Saturday, August 15, 2026, governorship election.
In a congratulatory message, Obaseki described Adeleke’s victory as a reflection of the will and confidence of the people of Osun State, who have chosen to renew his mandate for another four years.
He said the outcome of the election demonstrates that the people’s democratic choice remains the most powerful force in determining political leadership, regardless of the challenges and pressures that may arise during an electoral contest.
According to him, the victory is a reminder that when citizens stand together with courage, determination and a shared commitment to democracy, they can defend their choices and ensure that their voices are heard.
Obaseki, who drew from his own political experience, noted that elections won through the determination and support of the people impose a greater responsibility on elected leaders to remain accountable and committed to the welfare of the electorates.
He therefore urged Adeleke to see his renewed mandate as a call to deepen good governance, deliver more development and continue to place the interests of the people of Osun State above all other considerations.
The former Edo Governor expressed confidence that Adeleke would use his second term to consolidate on his administration’s achievements and pursue policies that would improve the lives of the people of the state.
He wished the Osun State Governor a successful second term in office and congratulated the people of Osun State for participating in the democratic process.
