A former Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in Nasarawa State, Musa Ibrahim has survived an assassination attempt by unknown gunmen in Doma Local Government Area of the State.
Ibrahim, who is contesting to represent Doma South at the state House of Assembly on the platform of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), while narrating his ordeal in a telephone chat with ait.live, alleged that the perpetrators of the act were sent by high profile politicians outside his party.
The NNPP chieftain said the incident occured on September 21, 2022 at about 5:30pm close to Igbabo village when he was returning from Rukubi town after donating relief materials to victims of flood disaster in Doma Local Government Area of the state.
He explained that a good Samaritan rescued and took him on a motorcycle to Doma where he was conveyed to the Specialist Hospital in Lafia.
The former commissioner revealed further that three bullets were removed from his body at the hospital .
He called on the police in the state to investigate and bring the perpetrators of the evil act to book.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Ramhan Nansel who comfirmed the attack said investigation had commenced as effort are on to arrest the perpetrators of the act.
The former commissioner has also been taken to another undisclosed hospital due to security reasons.
