Former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, has been declared wanted after an FCT High Court in Maitama revoked his bail and issued a bench warrant for his arrest over alleged 31 billion naira fraud.
Justice Maryann Anineh gave the order on Monday following Mamman’s absence in court without explanation during his ongoing trial by the EFCC on charges bordering on conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence, and intent to defraud.
The EFCC said Mamman has been missing since May 7, 2026, when he was convicted by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court on a separate 12-count money laundering charge involving N33.8 billion.
Prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, urged the court to revoke the former minister’s bail and continue proceedings in his absence, citing provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.
Justice Anineh granted the request, ordered Mamman’s arrest, and ruled that the trial would continue despite his absence.
The case was adjourned to May 14th, 2026, for continuation of trial.
