Former Chief Whip of the Senate, Ali Ndume, has formally apologised to the All Progressives Congress, APC, for making hurtful comments against the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

The senator representing Borno South in the 10th National Assembly gave the apology on Tuesday, after a closed-door meeting with the hierarchy of the party at its headquarters in Abuja.

The party had requested the senate to remove Ndume as the Chief Whip of the Red Chamber on July 17, a move he strongly denounced.

But on Tuesday, Ndume bowed to party supremacy, saying he “accepted the mistake of not talking to the party as a last resort, rather than going public.”

According to him, he regretted that his observation did not terminate within the party, though it was true and expressed out of patriotism.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, said the party will convey the latest developments to the leadership of the National Assembly for a review of their position.
