The Rivers State Government has recorded another milestone in infrastructure development with the completion of a multi-billion-naira bridge linking Abua-Odual and Emohua Local Government Areas.

The project is expected to significantly improve transportation and boost economic activities in the largely agrarian communities.

The 240-metre bridge now spans the waters that once separated Abua-Odual from Emohua, providing a vital connection between the two local government areas.

For years, residents, mostly farmers and traders, faced challenges moving goods and accessing markets due to poor and unreliable routes.

With the successful completion of the bridge and the 14.5-kilometre Agba–Ndele road, residents can now travel seamlessly to Port Harcourt in just about an hour.

The project stands as a clear reflection of the Siminalayi Fubara administration’s resolve to bridge the development gap between urban centres and rural areas, ensuring that no community is left behind in the state’s progress.

The governor continues to demonstrate his administration’s “Rivers First” commitment by prioritizing inclusive development that directly impacts rural communities.

For the people of Abua-Odual and Emohua, the bridge is more than just concrete and steel; it is a gateway to improved livelihoods and a symbol of progress.

Residents say the project will not only enhance mobility but also strengthen economic ties between the two local government areas, marking a significant step toward rural development in Rivers State.
