A coalition of Fulani groups in Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria has alleged that about 350 of their members have been killed with over 800 cows rustled within the last four months.
Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN in Plateau State, Muhammad Nura, flanked by other Fulani leaders made this known while addressing newsmen on Sunday in Jos.
It is the first time the Fulani will speak since the Christmas eve massacre in some communities in Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi and Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau State. According to Nura, it is on record that since August 29, 2023 to December 24, 2023, a total of 834 cows were rustled in some communities and their members killed across Plateau State.

Nura also said a total of 23,515 internally displaced persons are residing in camps, relatives homes and neighbouring states without any support from the authorities.
While condemning the Christmas eve attacks that resulted in the loss of lives and property in the villages of Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi and Mangu Local Government Areas of the state, the coalition of the Fulani Groups also lamented what they termed the total neglect by authorities to visit Fulani IDPs camps to ascertain their needs, more especially to provide food, medicine, clothing and shelter.
