A gas explosion at Sheka quarters in Kano metropolis has left one person dead and over twenty people injured.
The explosion was allegedly caused by fire from a man frying and selling fish near the gas shop.
It is just barely two weeks ago when an explosion rock the Sabon Gari area of Kano.
The explosion generated controversies as some residents attributed the explosion to suicide bombing while the police authority said it was a gas explosion.
And here again in Sheka quarters, another explosion is reported.
Eyewitnesses said it was indeed a gas explosion caused by external fire close to the operator of the gas shop.
They said over 25 people were affected by the fire and one person later died.
Owners of some of the buildings affected plead for government’s intervention.

Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf, confirmed the incident in a press statement
He said about 20 people were involved, but had been rescued alive and now receiving treatment in hospitals.
