The German Ambassador to Nigeria, Annett Gunther says he is hopeful that the newly constructed police post and youth development centre among other ongoing projects at Otuan community in Bayelsa state will help to reduce crime and drugs abuse as well as increase the economic empowerment of the area.
Speaking during the official inauguration of the Projects in Otuan community on Wednesday, the Ambassador assured the people of more sponsorship and that the German Government will extend such gestures to more communities in the state.
Located along the River Nun, Otuan is an agrarian community as most of the locals eke out a living through farming and fishing.

The presence of the German government in the community means a lot to the natives.
Accompanied by the Bayelsa state Governor, Douye Diri, and other government officials, the German Ambassador to Nigeria, Annett Gunther commissions a police station and a youth development centre funded by the German Government to combat crime through a community-friendly strategy.
Governor Diri is excited that the partnership between the state and international development partners is yielding good results
The people of Otuan are grateful to the German government, UNODC, and the state for finding their community worthy of benefiting through such a gesture.
