A steering committee has been set up for the implementation of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, (AGILE) in Bauchi State.
Governor Bala Mohammed said the World Bank-assisted project would focus more on addressing the challenges facing girls in accessing education.
Inaugurating the state’s Steering Committee, Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, said the initiative would help complement the Bala Mohammed-led administration in addressing the out-of-school children in the state.

The Chairperson of the Committee, Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Dr Jamila Dahiru, enumerates some of the key areas the programme will address, including the multidimensional challenges, facing the girl child, while accessing education.
The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment AGILE is a World Bank-assisted project, that seeks to address the challenges facing the girl child in accessing education, such as socio-cultural, financial, and infrastructural deficits.
