The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF, has called on stakeholders in state governments, local governments and communities in Nigeria to adhere to the implementation of the principles of the safe school initiative.
The education specialist of the United Nations body Abdurahman Ado Ibrahim who disclosed this said, UNICEF had been able to train school head teachers on the safe school initiative in order to put them through the necessary steps in security and conduct of teachers and students in the various schools.

For the head teachers at rural government schools, they now understand the principles of the initiative and will educate their teachers on the same principles.
The United nations believes the safe school initiative will be functional if all hands are on deck.
