The Nigerian Population Commission has begun a four month demography and health survery of thirty one settlements in the three senatorial zones of the state.
According to the federal agency in collaboration with the federal ministry of health said this is important as it would provide the needed data that will enhance public health interventions and form cornerstone for government policies on health care.
At last, the cry for a data bank for health care is heard as the federal government through agencies of the National Population Commission and the federal ministry of health have begun collecting data from Nigerians.
The collection of this data in Gombe would involve officials of the federal government agencies with efforts to sensitize and prepare the minds of Nigerians on the importance of this exercise and the relevance of this to the development of the country
Thirty-one, settlements in the eleven local government areas of the state would be engaged in this exercise as this would provide the platform for proper planning and execution of health policies for Nigerians.
