Gombe State Governor, supports review of revenue sharing formula to states and local govt

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has made a case for an upward review of statutory allocation to states and local governments in the country.

Governor Inuwa, said an upward review will enable states and Local Government Authorities meet up with the ever-expanding challenges of socio-economic, human capital, and infrastructural development.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya made this known at the official flag-off ceremony of the sensitization programme on the Review of Existing Revenue Allocation Formula, by the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission held at the New Banquet Hall of the Government House, Gombe.

A new era beckons for states and local government seeking for review in the allocation of resources in the states.

Officials of the revenue and fiscal say they are in Gombe state to seek the views of the people on redirecting the nation’s revenue.

Stakeholders have added their voice citing the resources being produced by the states and local governments and want the people to be direct beneficiaries from their resources.

The sensitization program moves to other states in the country.
