Bayelsa state Governor Douye Diri has received a vote of confidence from Former lawmakers in the state under the aegis of Bayelsa Former Legislative Forum, for a second term in office due to his developmental strides within the three and half years in office.
At a meeting with the Governor Tuesday in government house Yenagoa, ex-legislators say they are very proud of the governor for his love for the people and are willing to work with him in the development of the state.
It is an exciting moment at the conference hall of Governor Douye Diri as he receives former legislators in the state.
The former state lawmakers which cut across the political divide from 1999 to 2023 say their visit is to thank the Governor for his leadership style which has brought about development, peace, and stability in the state.

A motion for a Vote-Of-Confidence on the Governor is moved by the forum through former Speaker, Boyelayefa Debekeme and seconded by former Acting Governor and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Werinipre Seibarogu.
The response to the motion proceeded with a standing ovation for the Governor.
Elated Governor Diri expresses gratitude for the honour but charged all to work toward defending democracy in the upcoming Governorship election in the state.
