Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has inaugurated the State Advisory Council, describing it as a platform to harness the experience and wisdom of eminent citizens of the state to strengthen governance.
Governor Diri said the council was established following a review of the former local government caucus system, with the aim of providing effective counsel to both the governor and his deputy.
Responding on behalf of the Advisory Council, former Deputy Governor, Peremobowei Ebebi, thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in the members and pledged their commitment to supporting the administration with credible and impartial advice.
The Governor assured the council that his administration would work closely with them and other stakeholders to promote good governance and contribute meaningfully to the development of Bayelsa State.
