Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has said he is not interested in having a third term by proxy.
Governor Emmanuel stated this in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital when he hosted a group called Ibom Patriots.
The political temperature in Akwa Ibom State has increased after the Governor recently presented his anointed “successor” to major stakeholders in the state.
Receiving his visitors, Governor Emmanuel said insinuations that he was seeking a third term through a proxy were unfounded.
Governor Emmanuel maintained that he had done his best as governor of the state.
On the choice of his preferred successor, the Governor said the candidate has the capacity to lead the State.
Chancellor of Ibom Patriots, Bassey Inuaeyen told the Governor that as their Grand Patron they were solidly behind him.
Inuaeyen appealed to people to desist from launching provocative attacks on the Governor as he meant well for the state.
