Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has described the rule of law as one of the keys to building a responsible society, hence the need to overhaul the judicial system for speedy dispensation of justice to all regardless of the individual status in the society.

The Governor stated this while declaring open the Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, Zamfara State Branch, in Gusau , the State capital, which has as its theme: Rule of Law as a tool to promote Democracy in Nigeria.

He made a case for increased remuneration and training of personnel of the Nigeria Police to enable them discharge their constitutional duties effectively, and ensure a better and responsible society.

Governor Lawal observed that with myriad of challenges being faced in Zamfara, the rule of law is required to address the challenge, hence he emphasized the need to strengthen the rule of law for justice and accountability.

The Chairman of the NBA Zamfara State Branch Muazu Shehu spoke on the essence of the conference and the choice of the theme.
