From student of law to the office of Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah has returned to his alma mater in London – this time to receive an honour.
The Governor was on Thursday conferred with a Doctor of Laws degree, honoris causa, by the University of East London (UEL) in the United Kingdom
during the University’s graduation ceremony
Presenting his citation, Vice-Provost and Executive Dean of the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, Professor Fatima Ana-Diab, recalled Mbah’s academic and leadership excellence as a student, saying those qualities have also reflected in his success as an entrepreneur and Governor of Enugu State, Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech, the governor spoke of his belief in service, disruptive innovation, and the power of education.
He said he has never allowed his circumstances to define the limits of what he can achieve.
Governor Mbah obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of East London in 2000 before returning to Nigeria for the Nigerian Law School, where he was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar.
