Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has presented his 2025 budget estimates of over 580 billion Naira.
Over 480 billion Naira was earmarked for capital expenditure and 127 billion for recurrent expenditure.
The governor thanked the legislators for the speedy passage of bills sent to them by his government, which has enabled his administration to perform creditably well in the areas of infrastructure, education and agriculture, amongst others.
Governor Idris disclosed that the 2025 budget would enable him to fulfil his long-term wishes of constructing the most desired Dabai-Mahuta-Koko road, because of its socio-economic relevance, revealing that 41 billion Naira has been set aside for that.
The governor added that the state is expecting over N235 billion as revenue, statutory allocation from the federation account and Internally Generated Revenue, (IGR) of N25 billion.
Governor Idris recalled that apart from distributing fertilisers free of charge to farmers, to enhance food security, his administration has also empowered 65,000 persons with N100,000 each, to enable them to become self-reliant.

Receiving the Budget Proposal, the Deputy Speaker, Sama’ila Muhammad Bagudo,
who presided over the session, described Governor Nasir Idris as a pillar of progress, pledging the readiness of the Assembly to accord speedy passage to the Appropriation Bill.
