The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has emphasised the need to clearly demarcate political and technical roles of government, for enhanced and efficient service delivery.
Obaseki gave this emphasis when he received the 15-man State Political Appointment Screening Committee The committee led by its Chairman, Professor Dennis Agbonlahor, who were in Government house Benin City, to submit their findings and recommendations to Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The purpose of the screening committee formed on June 29th, was to ensure that political positions in the state are occupied by capable hands, who also keyed into the developmental agenda of the Godwin Obaseki led Administration.
Governor Obaseki noted the importance of having the committee sieve through the political nominees and emphasised that there must be clear distinction between the public and the civil service for quality delivery.
The Governor said that the screening exercise will also be beneficial to the state and will further place the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in a vantage position, to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
