Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has relieved the State Commissioner for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Newton Okojie of his duties.
This was conveyed in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare.

Chris Nehikhare revealed that the Commissioner for Roads and Bridges had not been able to make the much needed headway in the State Roads Infrastructure inspite of his best efforts.
He noted that it was unfortunate that the State Government had not recorded the projected progress in Road Infrastructure particularly in the last twelve months.
The Commissioner conveyed Governor Obaseki’s appreciation to Newton Okojie for his service to the State, wishing him well in his future endeavours.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engineer Osikhena Omoh Ojior is to take charge until a new Commissioner is appointed.
