Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has called for a review of current waste management methods in the state to make them more efficient and effective.
The Governor stated this when he received stakeholders at the Government House in Benin on Monday.
Addressing them, Governor Godwin Obaseki was emphatic when he said the old ways of doing things have not been effective and harped on attitudinal changes.
Chairman of the State Waste Management Board, Charles Imariagbe explained measures taken in the past to clean up the environment, stressing that recycling is still one of the best ways to effectively manage waste.
Some participants appealed to citizens to join hands with the state government and other relevant authorities to change the narrative and promote cleanliness.
