Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has assured residents and traders in Uwasota and Uwelu, Benin City, that his administration will soon commence the reconstruction of the deplorable Uwasota-Uwelu Road.
The governor also promised a 100-million-naira grant to support traders at the popular Uwelu Spare Parts Market, urging them to form a cooperative to facilitate access to the funds before Christmas.

Governor Monday Okpebholo was at the popular Uwelu Spare Parts Market in Benin City, a major commercial hub largely occupied by Igbo traders, where he interacted with traders and residents on some of the challenges affecting business activities in the area.
One of the major concerns raised by the traders was the deplorable condition of the Uwasota-Uwelu Road, which they said has continued to cause hardship for residents, traders, and other road users.
Responding to the concerns, Governor Okpebholo assured the people that the state government would soon give attention to the reconstruction of the Uwasota-Uwelu Road.
Governor Okpebholo further announced a 100-million-naira grant for the Uwelu Spare Parts traders to support and expand their businesses.
He urged the traders to form a cooperative if they do not already have one to enable them to access the grant before Christmas.
The Uwasota-Uwelu Road has remained in a deplorable condition for several years.
