The Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has distributed laptops to twenty thousand Head teachers and Principals of public and public-mission schools across the twenty one Council Areas of the State.
At an event to handover the laptops to the beneficiaries in Awka, the State capital, Gov. Soludo expressed the commitments of his administration towards equipping schools with modern technologies that will enhance teaching and learning.
He urged the beneficiaries to leverage on the State government’s programs of training and retraining of teachers, to maintain the Anambra State students’ leading position in both national and international competitions.
The State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chukwuma-Udeh and other speakers thanked the Governor for the initiative to equip public schools with modern technologies to meet the global digital education standards.
The present administration in Anambra State is said to be making deliberate efforts at improving the standard of education, with the provision of improved conducive learning environments, recruitment of five thousand teachers within its first nine months into office, among other facilities and incentives.
