Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi wants the leadership of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, (NSE) to rally round the Federal Government in its efforts at resuscitating the Ajaokuta Steel Company project.
Umahi spoke in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital when he received in audience members of the NSE, Ajaokuta branch.
Represented by the State Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe, the Governor expressed regrets that for over 40 years, the completion of the multi-billion dollar Ajaokuta steel project has been delayed.

Governor Umahi believes that Nigeria’s dream of attaining the class of industrialised nation, would easily be realised with the Ajaokuta Steel complex being operational.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Ajaokuta branch, Abraham Aghadike, told his host that they were on a facility tour to have firsthand information of the ongoing infrastructure development in the State.
