Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State on Friday dissolved his 106 cabinet members, retaining 25 in his first major cabinet reshuffling since the beginning of his second tenure in office, on May 29, 2019.
The Secretary to the State Government, Kenneth Ugbala disclosed this to newsmen at the end of the state weekly Executive Council Meeting.
Ugbala said the dissolution was to give government opportunity to appraise the inputs of different Ministries, Departments and Agencies, with the view to strengthening their performance and capacity.

Ugbala added that the dissolution will be done in two phases; pointing out that the first phase was carried out at the end of Friday’s meeting.
The Secretary to the State Government, the Head of Service, and the Commissioners in charge of Justice, Information, Internal Security and Border Peace, Infrastructure, Works and Transport, were not affected in the cabinet shake-up.
