Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has inaugurated the state owned infectious diseases and treatment centre.
Governor Emmanuel While inaugurating the 300-bed facility for the treatment of COVID-19 patients at the Methodist General Hospital Ituk Mbang, said the pandemic has made it necessary for government to invest heavily in medicare because there is no place like home.
He said his administration is committed to providing every federal constituency in the state with a world class general hospital.

The facility which brings to three such treatment centres in the state has 300 beds, virology and clinical laboratory or PCR lab, a doctors quarter, a canteen and other first-class amenities.
